Halloween

This year for Halloween Andrea wanted to be a witch, well, at least that's what she finally decided on.  She thought about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Merida from Brave, but finally decided witch.  Even when I order her costumes, they always need fixing.  It needed to be shortened, so I shorted the bottom layer and then had to cut the velvet shorter for the top layer.  But then the velvet rolled up on me, and you couldn't see the jagged edges, so I sewed beads on to keep them hanging down.  Then she saw a witch hat in the store with hair on it, so I told her I could sew some hair on her hat, I wish I would have sewed some bangs, but oh, well, it's only a few days right?

This was her best "mean witch" pose.

I love when Andrea gets a lot of use out of her costume.  This year was another great year because we had multiple dress-up activities.  The Saturday before Halloween our ward had their trunk or treat.  I also dressed up as a witch that night, but we forgot to take photos.  The day before Halloween was her dance class, and they were allowed to dress up that day and played a few games at the end of class.  That same night Eric and Amy had a Halloween party at their house with a few other families in the ward, and so I dressed as a hippie, but Ryan dressed as.....well, a party pooper, I guess :)  I'm glad he went with us.  Amy had made lots of yummy food and Brigitta gave them all scary names.

On Halloween she got to exchange treats at preschool, but no dressing up.  But that night we trick or treated around the neighborhood, went to all the grandparents, and trick or treated on Grandma Bell's street.  We are still working on eating all that candy, although I did my part and ate all the chocolate, so now the rest is up to Andrea and Ryan.
